Tail-f Systems, a developer of on-device configuration management software for networking equipment providers, and A.I. Corporation have signed a distribution deal to bring on-device configuration management to Japanese networking equipment providers.

Both partners are collaborating on delivering sales and technical resources to the target market. Their efforts will help Japanese networking equipment providers to benefit from carrier-grade technology capabilities and reduced time-to-market.

As per the agreement, A.I. Corporation’s sales and technical teams are trained on Tail-f Systems’ (News - Alert) products. These teams are also armed with localized product information available for customer review.

A.I. Corporation was initially founded as a Japanese trading company specializing in embedded software products, but now provides marketing and promotion services for their partners, in-depth technical support, consulting, porting and system customization and integration.

In a release, Hiroyuki Kato, president of A.I., said he recognizes Tail-f Systems’ ConfD as the industry standard framework for building next-generation, embedded management systems. The company has already formed ties with tier-one vendors in Japan and they are evaluating Tail-f Systems’ technology.

Tail-f Systems’ family of products enables users to build and extend network management systems. The company is known for their data model driven toolkit ConfD, which renders NETCONF, CLI, SNMP and Web interfaces from a single data model.

ConfD also includes a lightweight embedded database. Tail-f also offers ConfM, a Java-based software application that augments EMS/NMS applications with NETCONF-support.

Tail-f Systems is excited about this contract with A.I. Corporation. It looks towards delivering carrier-grade configuration management solutions to the Japanese market, noted Håkan Millroth, CEO, Tail-f Systems.

“A.I. Corporation has a proven track record of selling and supporting state-of-the-art technology for the telecommunications industry and we are confident that together we will be very successful.”
