One-Year-Old Siemens Enterprise Highlights a Year of Successes

Siemens (News - Alert) Enterprise Communications Group, which last month celebrated its one-year anniversary, says it’s developed into a solid, healthy youngster.

In the fourth quarter the group saw a 12 percent sales increase. That included a 12 percent increase in network infrastructure and security through its Enterasys (News - Alert) business, and an 8 percent increase in large enterprise. The SEN Group has seen a 28 percent year-over-year increase in OpenScape Voice licenses and a 10 percent increase in global managed services revenues.

Key to the success is work by the Gores Group to realign the company to make it more customer focused, emphasizing its commitment to the channel (the SEN Group expects to increase indirect revenues globally by 20 percent in fiscal 2010) and tightening integration of the SEN Group operating companies, which over the last year have reduced costs by 25 percent, according to the company.

The company says the strategy is clearly working. In addition to the above-mentioned financial successes, the SEN Group this year earned a five star rating from Current Analysis (News - Alert) for its partner strategy, an ITSMA award for its channel program, and Enterasys recently received a 96 percent satisfaction rating from customers and partners. And Gartner (News - Alert) recently placed SEN Group in the leader’s quadrants for the corporate telephony and unified communication category.

The SEN Group provides end-to-end enterprise communications, including voice, network infrastructure and security solutions. It is jointly owned by The Gores Group and Siemens AG (News - Alert). SEN Group companies include Siemens Enterprise Communications, Cycos and Enterasys Networks.
